Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is FunderMax?
A: FunderMax exterior panels are duromer high-pressure laminates (HPL) that are produced in lamination presses under great pressure and high temperature. Double-hardened acrylic PUR resins provide extremely effective weather protection that is particularly suitable for long-lasting exterior applications.

Q: Is FunderMax suitable for interior applications?
A: More than suitable.

Q: Is FunderMax environmentally friendly?
A: Due to our careful production control there is no impact on the environment. The laminates do not contain any organic halogen compounds, (chlorine, fluorine, bromine, etc.) as found in propellant gases or PVC. They contain neither asbestos nor wood preservatives (fungicides, pesticides, etc.) and are free of sulphur, mercury and cadmium. Sawdust formed during processing (cutting and milling) is not a health risk. As a result, even if waste material is incinerated, no environmental toxicants such as hydrochloric acid, organic chlorine compounds or dioxins can develop, providing modern incinerators are in use.

Q: What is FunderMax made of?
A: Each layer consists of natural fibres — about 65 % of the weight — and synthetic resins which melt at high pressure and temperature to harden irreversibly.

Q: Is FunderMax suitable for lab and medical environments?
A: This is where our MAX Compact Laminates score top marks - even in slippery surroundings. FunderMax is an ideal design element for the furnishing of hospitals, in wet rooms and all sanitary areas.
Especially for the laboratory: are you looking for a laminate in the professional laboratory area which is even more resistant? Then our MAX RESISTANCE is just the thing for you. The name says it all. And rightly so. For more information on this special laminate please contact us.

The laminates have a high resistance to abrasion, are food-contact grade and easy to clean and disinfect due to their sealed surfaces.
